Hercule Poirot's Christmas 4⭐️/5

Hercule Poirot's Christmas by Agatha Christie

4⭐️/5

An excellent, tried-and-true mystery novel by the Queen of Mystery herself, Agatha Christie. Though this novel has very little to do with Christmas (other than the time of year bringing the family together), I enjoyed this entertaining, fast-paced whodunit.

Things I liked:
-Who doesn’t love the exaggerated, eccentric Monsieur Hercule Poirot? His delicious deductions and interactions with Christie’s cast of characters is always my favorite part.
-Christie always gives the reader a fair chance to figure out whodunit, she isn’t withholding as an author and keeps you looking for clues!
-Classic Christie Trademarks: family dispute, wealthy family, marvelous estate, red-herrings, twists, shrewd female characters, and a will.

Things I didn’t care for:
-Would have liked more Christmas tie-ins, but that is personal preference
-Poirot was absent from the first half of the story, and I enjoy our mustachioed lead detective that I missed his presence immensely
