One True Loves 5⭐️/5
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid

What would you do if you thought the love of your life was gone? What does it mean to love someone truly?
I needed a solid week to digest this one.
One True Loves was a stressful read in many ways because the premise felt just real enough to work, and just outlandish enough to remind you that it’s fiction.
It was fascinating to read a TJR story featuring more traditional characters (instead of a Hollywood legend in Evelyn Hugo or a 70’s rock star in Daisy Jones), but I found myself just as engrossed in the depth and complexity of our protagonist, Emma’s, problem.
I don’t want to spoil anything! So this review will be brief. I will say, though, TJR asks a lot of her reader, and examines grief, love lost, love found, and the pain of growing older. It might as well have been an Adele album with a love triangle 😅😅
I think the reason this story was so engaging was because it’s nearly impossible for the reader to consider this situation without asking yourself what you would do. She simultaneously reminds you of how powerful first love really is, while a mature, evolved love taps you on the shoulder.
It was an excellent romance with inspiration, heartbreak, and drama. Highly recommend!
